congrats to louis, jasper, abby, colleen, mel, and many many 88, 87 ers in church who just finished their exams!! :))

went for a 2.45am movie, a first in sikhi and my life!! ahahah totally got kidnapped by the boys. had a feeling they would go for it instead of the 1.55am one. but glad we went! :DD movie was really kick ass.! :)

taking the step of faith.

Today at cell, we talked about taking a step of faith, and to completely immerse ourselves, and not hold anything back. I guess that takes a whole lot of faith and it is through that, that we build up faith in God.

Question is.. how do we go about .. to take that first step.

To be honest, through cell today, I've been asking myself. and I have to admit that I am always doubtful if it's really Him talking, or if that was just my wishes, and my hallucination/desires, that I wanna fulfill.

Though cell was short today, but there were a few issues that stood out to me.

1) To be complete in things He asks of us. I admit that in the past few years, though I told Him that I wanted to surrender my all to Him, I just couldnt do it. I feel ashamed.. but.. I just couldnt. When circumstances arose, I realised that my instinct was to use my minute human abilities, thinking that I could solve it.. but more often than not... things turned for the worse. I feel that up till now, i am still trying to maintain control of some parts of my life. But I do feel like I am starting to release a certain part of my life to Him, "part a" yes I yes it was due to experiences, and seeing how everything turned out that I finally understood the meaning of 2 Cor 6:14; Do not be unequally yoked. I feel like I'm starting to relinquish all control over this aspect of my life, and for that, I feel peace as well.---> 1ST AIM!! :)

2) To be a new creation. When Sam talked about this during cell, this was the point that really spoke to me. Remembered talking to Gavin a few months ago about issues or rather a particular issue that up till now, i admit that its still etched in me. The negative feeling is still in me, and even though Gavin was telling me about how it was in the past, and that as much as i'm feeling guilty, that I was forgiven. I found a verse that really spoke to me

Hebrew 4:16

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

I feel a sense of peace, but I still feel some underlying turmoil. I yearn to be a new creation, almost everyday, and know that if I sinned, I could seek for forgiveness, and it would be granted. ----> 2ND AIM!!!

3) I must say.. I LOVE MY GROUP! hey group! LOVE ALL OF YOU! :) yes the third point was just a shout out to my group mates!

hope all of us would grow together, and walk further, and with more faith! :D

by the way.. yes.. let's decide on what to bring for dinner next week

was talking to siqi in the car just now, and we realised how the church group kind of got addicted to Koi bubble tea. It's like a must drink every week.

I must say its really tasty though :D

1) Thesis

right. so some problems arose in the midst of all the thesis

action but everything went A-OKAY in the end. i suppose?

Anyway, just really thankful to all my friends who stuck by me, and for supporting me emotionally. Without these people..

I would have crumbled. Oh and of course God! He gave me

answers when I was confused. He answered me when I was in

doubt. He was there supporting me when I was hurting. He was there to give me a peace when I was troubled. so.

Thank You God! :D

Feeling rather accomplished though! Finishing up with my thesis. After an arduous year, the final product is slowly,

but surely emerging!

2) Music.

ah yes. I gave up piano for dance, and now thinking back. I did not regret dancing, but I've definitely regretted giving up on piano.

Have been getting back to playing it recently, totally rusty, but still passable i guess. My new year resolution! To pick back piano~

3) Church.

Church. God. Church friends. I feel like I'm starting to build

everything back again. The feeling's great, great friends,

great church family. and also.. Great God. Yes!! <3

Loving this family of mine. In this year,

I hope to draw closer to this God and also the family.

4) other matters.

ok. still patiently waiting for jaebeom oppa to return.

Didnt really hear of any news regarding him for a while.

I guess no news might be good news though. It shows that the public is finally relenting and leaving him alone! :D

Hope he's happy and fine though.

shall continue to pray for him.

Oh! and recently the thing about taec's cyworld pictures.

Trip to Genting with Daddy and Mummy

After a year, we went on a vacation together again! :)

This trip was a rather emotional one for me..

was crying in bed while pretending to be asleep on the last night in Genting..

and tearing on the bus.. and crying as i am typing this blog entry..

After spending 3 days with my daddy and mummy,

I felt like we went back to the old days where we would go for trips together, enjoying the trips together and just spending time with each other.

I felt very emo, both yesterday and i don't really know why..

I just felt like my daddy and mummy really did so much for the 3 of us...

one sentence daddy said during the trip will be etched in my heart forever..

daddy said: "no matter how old my children are, they will always be kids in my eyes."

daddy and mummy really suffered and went through so much for us, but sometimes, maybe in the heat of the moment, we may get angry or irritated at them..

i realised that this emo-ness was always present in me.. the emo-ness about my family.. it escalated during sec 3-4? and then it kinda went down and till ast year.. it really reached its peak... peak for now i guess..

I don't know.. maybe its like a father daughter bond thing?

I'm always more emo about my daddy than towards my mummy..

i remember when i was young,

whenever my daddy goes for business trips, I would sit by the door, looking at gate, and cry.. I missed my daddy so much..

I remembered an incident where my dad was going to leave for holland..

he came into the room to make sure that i was tucked nicely..

I was crying because i missed him

he came in, and he saw that i wasnt asleep, so he asked why were my eyes red..

i lied saying that it was painful and i had red eyes, so that he could bring me to the doctor at the airport, so that i could spend more time with my daddy before he left..

Since young, I've always been scared about losing my daddy..

whenever he goes for trips, I pray so mch for him to return safely..

I just have this strange feeling that something might/will happen..

i'm just so scared..

i don't know even now..

seeing my parents go about life everyday,

maybe it's because of the huge age gap,

i just feel like my parents are getting old,

and yet they are toiling so hard...

and its all for us...

I just feel so guilty...

and my wish is just for them to enjoy their lives, and to be healthy..

seeing my mummy struggling with her legs..

my daddy just pushing himself, and just enduring everything..

it just pains me so much..

and i realised in this 3 days..

that i would give anything up for my daddy and mummy...

i love them so much..

the thought of my daddy leaving for Kelantan to trek on wednesday scares me..

I will miss him so much..

I'm worried about his health..

i'm worried about his safety..

i want him to come back safely...

I realised how unfilial i was in the past..

being ignorant..

being defiant...

being unthoughtful..

being spiteful..

Daddy mummy, I'm really sorry...

Daddy once said that he wasnt a good father for a wrong that I had committed..

but I just want hi to know that I wasnt being a good daughter instead.. and that he is the best father to me, and I'm really thankful and grateful for everything.. I'm sorry for hurting my parents..

I always feel emo looking at the backviews of my parents..

The thought that they would leave me one day..

it scares me..

Daddy and mummy loves me so much...

and yet all i do is to hurt them...

To daddy and mummy:

Daddy, mummy, i think neither joey alex or myself ever expressed outirghtly how much we love both of you.. but i know all of us do, and all of us are thankful for everything mummy and daddy did for us. As mummy and daddy grow old, all three of us just wish both of you good health, and just be happy. Mummy and Daddy are the best parents all 3 of us can wish for, and we just want to thank you for tolerating us, for taking care of us, and for being so sacrificial in every aspect. Daddy mummy, for this christmas, and for many more, I just hope to spend more time with you, like how we did during this trip.. I missed those times, and I just wish that both of you are in good health.. I'm scared to lose any one of you.. I really am... I promise to be filial, and i promise to study hard..

i mean..
it's alright to like a band/group/singer/actress okok artiste...
it's alright to check their news everyday..
everything is alright..
as long as it DOES NOT.. affect your daily activities, and you're still functional!

HOWEVER..
if you start to write letter to your idols in blood
- menstrual blood
- or, blood from cutting your freaking wrist..
THAT.. is worrying..

all the witch hunting.. all the netizens.. all these cyber-bullying..and all these extraordinary acts of confession of love for idols...
these are proof that the society has a problem!
i mean.. i'm not trying to say that korean youths have a problem..
i'm sure this happens in every country (whether common or not.. that's another issue..)
but.. what are we teaching our children these days?
or rather what are our children's values and priorities?

to dishonor their parents? like how i see youngsters in singapore being rude.. sometimes even sprouting vulgarities towards their parents..
they have NO IDEA.. how they would regret what they did later on in life...

i know that western influences have been a reason for many youngsters who support pre marital sex. But face it.. we are still in an asian society.. and even if we are "westernized" this is not the way to go.
you are still young.
to be bogged down by a baby?
what finances do you have to raise the baby?
what is your level of maturity? is it enough to ensure a full family for the baby?
how about your studies?
all these questions just do not come into your mind ... right?

In addition, we talk about not looking down on individuals who leave school due to inappropriate behaviour, or people who enter schools like ITE..
there is always a reason why public opinions of them are negative.
perhaps not all..
but examples of how some individuals act while they are on the streets and all .. help to shape what the public thinks of them..
it is always a two way traffic.
in order to change the opinion of the public.. start by changing your behaviour and mannerisms on the part of the "victims", and as for the public, maybe a more gracious and open heart, may decrease this level of stigma, because i admit, not all of them are like that.

just watched growing up on channel 5
it brought me back to the days when i was young,
and watching growing up as a family on a sunday night
it was just a time of "family bond" where daddy mummy alex and sometimes joey kinda sat together to enjoy the show
loved the show! :)
so glad it's having a re-run :)
watching growing up, and seeing how "Mr Tay" still cared so much about his son even though he said he wanted to disown him..
this showed me how much parents loved their children..
and i must say.. it's more painful to watch parents cry/tear.
especially daddies.

I've realised how hard it is to convince and to tell myself that i should not spend most of my time piling up earthly pleasures cause in fact, these are are things that help us survive.
However, I do know and seek comfort that He will direct my path and if i trust in Him, He will give me so much more..
more than I could ever seek for with my human strength.

to spend my time developing a Christ-like character.
to spend my time being spiritually alert
to spend my time being morally clean..

so he fetched us back before all of us met again at 7 something ahaha yes so hanling called me to say he's leaving followed by me calling louis so yeah our timing was impeccable we reached at the same time! so we went for manda's party ahahha the party was great! ahha kinda fun, talked in our usual group oh but GAVIN WAS LATE..!! hahaha sam accompanied me to some place in bugis to get balloons and we kinda like walked into the first shop of the WHOLE row of shops.. so at first, we saw this big pack of like 50 balloons? so i wanted purple pink and black.. and in total i could have bought 150 balloons.. thats like enough to stuff the whole place up and all.. but blowing them up would cost us our lives.. ahah so luckily we found a pack of 10 balloons!

OHOH and sam bought hair paint or something OHOH mascara hair mascara.. but the thingy is kinda like stucked in the bottle.. it just wont come out...!!!

what goes around comes around.
They say that if you have suffered most parts of your life, you would be "repay-ed" and good things will come eventually.
what is this idea of good things?
its so abstract, my version of "good things" may probably be a frekaing million dollar bungalow on the hill of bukit timah. while another person's "good things" may probably be having enough money just to lead a meagre life.
Then again, what is meagre life?
Everything in the world, its up to our own interpretation, our own definition, and for us to make our own meaning of it.
But if the world's fair, then why?
Why do some people ride on the success of others?
Why do some people fall ill, when they dont have money to eat the next meal?
Why do some people gorge themselves with delicacies, only to have clogged arteries and put on life support system for the rest of the life.

1 word: money.

MONEY makes the world go round
All those idealistic and artsy fartsy sayings of money is evil, we shouldnt hunger over money,
but let me tell you this..
you will go hungry without money.

The education system in Singapore emphasizes on the great ideal of moulding a young person's life, with the right mindset, right attitude, teachhing them how to be a better person, how to change the world.. yes.. bullshit.. all these are just ideals.
We compete.. starting from the day we step into primary school, no even before that, parents have to compete to get their kids into the primary school of their choice.
and more oftenly than not, parents plan the way for their children,
"yes son, you'll go into acs primary.. then to acsi.. and then to acjc.. now all you need is to study hard"

everything's planned when we're young.
parents gear us up to compete with our friends via grades, and when we grow up, we compete with each other in the work place via job performance.
when will all these end?
nope it will never end. and even when we die, we have to compete with each other for a nice place to put our remains.

the world's becoming a really tiring place.
but you know what?
that's where true friends come in.
over the years, close friends that were really close to me before kinda left one by one, *ever since i left for another university).
I just feel regret, cause we were close friends once, and what happened?
but ian reminded me one day that we may have know many friends on the surface, but when trouble comes, which ones will stick by you and to help you?
He reminded me that what all of us have are acquaintances, and only 3-4 real friends.
I think that this is so true. Many of us are disillusioned by others, by thinking "oh gosh, what's wrong with me? why does she have so many friends, while I have only a few" but you know what? You have probably found your true close friends, and that's what i believe.

went to ngee ann primary school today to help up with an event for needy children. hahaha went with my church peeps.. so we were manning this pingpong stall.. its those usualy ping pong in cups thingy.. and we had some REALLY loyal patrons!

everything was well.. but.. THE WEATHER... ITS FREAKINGLY HUMID.. 0.0

anyway.. after the thing jeremy and i sat louis's car and went to viet pho for dinner.. followed by icecream at icecream chefs and then a movie at downtown east. YUP! movie~

so we proceeded from icecream chefs to downtown east.. ahhaha and JEREMY... he slept along the way leaving louis and i to look for directions..

we went to downtown east, and i experienced "THE E-HUB" for the very first time.. ahhaha

itsshitboring..

ehhehe so we went there with the aim of catching star trek before it gets removed.. but nooooo WE WERE TOO LATE..

it had been removed..

so we changed our minds and watched monsters vs aliens ahhah

and because of that.. we had around 1 hr plus to spare so as louis watches his show on his phone.. ahahah jeremy and i were talking about... stuufffss LOL!

and YES JEREMY.. i will make sure you chop "OKAY" before i accept in future.. no more dubdubdub..

so all was good..

we sat back in louis's car and as we were cruising down the expressway.. there it was a TOYOTA CELICA.. ahahha so we decided to see if we could overtake it.. and..

first day of internship at Mount E. and indeed...
what you study in books ..
does not really reflect what you will experience on the job itself.
its really an amazing first day.
- ECTs.
- Group Therapy Sessions.
- Situations that went out of control.
- Seeing different mental illness take form in a real person instead of being described in a textbook.
- Individual therapy
- Psychometric testings.

I love all the doctors, nurses and psychologists there!!! :D
